Organized in 2002 as a K-4 charter school by entrepreneur Christel DeHaan, well known in the timeshare and travel & tourism industries as an advocate of corporate social responsibility. The school grew in size, acclaim and scope. Now a network of charter schools in Indianapolis, serving children and adults with K-12 programming, we operate on two main campuses and one satellite campus.
Our staff is committed to developing a safe, caring environment where students engage in meaningful work. Besides academics, our students participate in the fine arts to expand their knowledge of culture and to stimulate creativity.
Christel House DORS, our adult high school program, enables students over the age of 18 to return to school on a flexible schedule, earning a high school diploma, community college credit and workplace certifications. Following the holistic principles developed at the Academy’s K-12 program, we work to develop workplace, social and academic skills that will enable our adult students to thrive after graduation.
All of our students benefit from state of the art facilities and expansive grounds. Unlike many urban schools, Academy staff invest in children, adults and families. Close, meaningful relationships are a hallmark of Christel House Schools. You will find it to be truly someplace very special.
Christel House Academy, Inc. holds the charters and operates Christel House Academy South, Christel House Academy West, Christel House DORS South and Christel House DORS West.
